Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Video

Our team is working hard to partner with nearby destinations to promote regional travel and tourism opportunities. As part of that regional marketing effort, Discover Siskiyou Digital Marketing Manager, Kevin Shinohara, filmed and produced the video above to promote the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway, and will make the video available for partner destinations including Klamath, Shasta, and Lassen counties to share with their audiences. NEW: Submit Events Directly to Discover Siskiyou Calendar

By popular request, we've added an online event submission form to the Discover Siskiyou events calendar! Community event organizers can easily upload event info and photos, venue details, ticket cost, event website, and more. Click the button below to access the form!

Print Advertising Update

This month we finalized a set of ads to go live at Granzella's Restaurant off of I5 in Williams, CA as well as the Redding Airport. Additionally, the Discover Siskiyou trifold brochure pictured above will be distributed in rest areas and welcome centers along the West Coast throughout the entire year. The ads and brochures all include unique QR codes that link to the Discover Siskiyou website so that our team can better track the ROI on these print advertising opportunities.

Apply now for event
marketing awards

From July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, Discover Siskiyou will fund 20 event marketing awards in the amount of $3,000 to local entities hosting events in Siskiyou this fiscal year. These awards may be used to book talent (musicians, guest speakers, workshop leaders, etc.) as well as marketing and advertising expenses including but not limited to posters and mailers, social media ads and influencers, display ads, and media buys. Awards may not be used for “hard” costs such as facility rentals, labor, insurance, or general operating expenses.

Applications and an informational sheet are posted online at https://www.industry.discoversiskiyou.com/event-marketing-program. There will be two application windows per year: July 1 – Dec. 31, and Jan. 1 – June 30, with up to 10 awards granted per window. Applications will be reviewed and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, provided the application is complete and meets all criteria in the provided informational document. Applications must be submitted via the online form.

We have already funded seven events for the first window. Once 10 events are funded, no awards will be issued until the Jan. 1 window opens.
