Local Initiatives Tourism
Event Funding
We are excited to announce that Discover Siskiyou is officially re-launching the “Local Initiatives” program! This program is a way for local businesses, tourism groups, and collectives to leverage the dollars invested by Siskiyou lodging properties to drive increased overnight visitation to individual communities throughout Siskiyou.
After a year of postponing events due to COVID-19, Discover Siskiyou is investing $110,150 in our local communities through a competitive application process. Discover Siskiyou Local Initiatives will support local events that drive overnight visitation and will now also provide the opportunity for jurisdictions to provide a 1:1 match for these event investments OR an investment in a digital marketing campaign specific to the awarded jurisdiction with branding, artwork, and implementation provided in-kind by Discover Siskiyou.

This week we hosted social media influencer @Sarowly! Sarah is an adventure photographer and travel blogger based in San Francisco. Sarah visited McCloud, Mt. Shasta, and Scott Valley on her trip, and shared dozens of photos with her 13K social media followers.
