New + Noteworthy
- Work is underway on the new Siskiyou Film Commission website, which is set to launch this winter. The site will include up-to-date film permitting information, sizzle reels, shooting location inventory, contacts for local actors/caterers/lodging/crews, and more. In addition to running the site, our team will follow up on leads from the California Film Commission as well as represent Siskiyou at film industry events.
- Our team attended a meeting at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park this month to express support in expanded bus service to/from the park during the winter months. We will continue to work alongside other community groups working toward this common goal!
- We are almost ready to launch our new integrated booking engine on DiscoverSiskiyou.com. For the first time ever, guests to our website will be able to book directly from our site, which we anticipate resulting in increased bookings. If you own or manage a hotel or motel, we will reach out very soon to provide you with onboarding information and dashboard access. If you own a hospitality-focused business such as a restaurant, retail shop, guide service, etc., you will have the opportunity to offer gift cards / packages to bundle at booking. - Once again, Discover Siskiyou will partner with the City of Yreka to host Yreka's Night of Lights event! Save the date for Saturday, Dec. 2 and stay tuned for event details c0ming soon.

FAM Tour Coverage
As part of our public relations strategy, we host "familiarization" (FAM) trips in Siskiyou for journalists, who in turn pitch stories about their experience here to various online and print publications. We hosted writer Brandon Schultz in August, and he enjoyed rafting the KIamath River, exploring the Lava Beds, and visiting downtown Mount Shasta. Brandon's coverage was recently included in a AAA Magazine roundup of "7 Amazing Destinations You've Never Heard Of."
